how we did it
ESTIMATE
With our extensive Lockformer rebuilding knowledge, we can provide an accurate estimate for the parts and labor required to rebuild each Lockformer rollformer. For specific information about Lockformer rebuilding, call us with the model of the Lockformer in question, plus any auxiliary rolls and attachments. We will provide instant estimates over the phone.
Loaner Machines
Lockformer loaner machines are available from H. Weiss Machinery but must be scheduled ahead of time. We offer loaner machines free of charge as a courtesy, though the customer must pay for shipping (if any).
Incoming Freight
Put your Lockformer machine on a pallet and ship it our location with pre-paid freight. Shipping costs should be minimal, and we will help you with scheduling a carrier.
Machine Inspection
Upon receiving your Lockformer machine, our service department will thoroughly inspect it by producing finished parts. This process will help us understand the characteristics of your Lockformer machine, and indicate which rebuilding issues need to be addressed.
Disassembly cleaning & Painting
In this phase of our Lockformer rebuilding process, we will disassemble the machine and then clean and paint each individual part. After inspection (see below) we will reassemble your machine and paint it the classic Lockformer blue color.
Part Inspection
During the disassembly process, we will inspect every part of your Lockformer machine to find defective components. These are usually worn-out rolls, chipped gears, faulty bearings, bent shafts, worn belts and other issues with Lockformer parts.
Replacement Parts
The H. Weiss Lockformer rebuilding team will replace all defective components with new Lockformer parts. The defective components will also be returned to you with the rebuilt machine.
Reassembly
Next, we’ll reassemble your Lockformer machine and adjust it according to the original Lockformer factor guidelines and owner’s manual. This will ensure proper parts production.
Final Adjustments
Our expert Lockformer service technicians will do a final inspection and make any last adjustments. They will also produce sample parts on the machine to ensure that it meets factory specifications.
Outgoing Freight
Finally, we will prepare your Lockformer machine for shipping, and have it sent back to your facility. We will arrange for a common carrier freight collect.
